Although Jon sensei (centre) is stepping back as the full time instructor and club admin, he will remain an integral part of the club with monthly appearances to take advanced classes and gradings.

In preparation for the transition, Jim (left, 1st dan) and Scott (right, 2nd dan) have been developing as instructors. They are agreed that the change in guard should alter the successful Dee Why recipe as little as possible.

Our dojo is not the largest in terms of physical size or number of members, but it is one of the most closely knit with a strong core of dedicated karateka at verious points in their karate journey.

At Dee Why, we place an emphasis on the traditional form of karate practice with an eye to detail and precision. That said, we embrace students of all ages and abilities - and each person walks their own journey at their own pace, because karate should be a lifelong journey.
